2004 PSAC NCR Union School Fund Raising

When the organizing committee was formed, brainstorming began on what to do for fund raising for this year's union school.  This year's union school fund raising brought a lot of challenges and gratitude.  Without the donators to this event, we would never had been able to raise the total amount $780.00 we actually accomplished.  The break down for each cause is as follows Sister of Solidarity $415.00 and Salvation Army injured worker Brother Duke Halik $365.00.  The reason the amounts are not equal as there was a $50.00 donation given to the Sisters of Solidarity.  Brothers and sisters obviously gave willingly to the causes and the participants at the school eagerly purchased their chance to have the opportunity to obtain gifts, which were donated.  The committee agreed that the monies raised would be shared between the Sisters of Solidarity and Salvation Army injured worker Brother Duke Halik.  I believed the choices which were agreed upon, represented the struggle we as society are going through each day, not only here in Canada but around the world.  I have linked the information on the Sisters of Solidarity hopefully to give you a better idea of what their role in society is.  I want to take this time to recognize and thank the unions, organizations, and individuals who either contributed donations or were involved in the raising of the monies.
