Management Continues to Reject Improvements in Key Areas

  1. Job Security.  We want employees to have the same job security as unionized workers at Museum of Nature,  Canada Post, Treasury Board, Parks Canada, Canada Revenue Agency and elsewhere.  There were layoffs last year at the Museum of Civilization.  We need to protect ourselves.
  2. Career Advancement.  We are asking that the Corporation show a commitment to its employees by providing the opportunity to advance careers here, so that when opportunities arise the Corporation offers them to its own employees and recognizes years of service with the museums before hiring outside  people.
  3. Fairness for Part-Timers and Contract Workers.  There needs to be clear language in our collective agreement that allows temporary workers the opportunity to become permanent.  There also needs to be clear protections – and fairness - built into how hours of work are scheduled for floor staff.

More Bargaining Scheduled

We have dates scheduled for negotiations this week.  If you have any questions contact your Shop Steward or a member of our Bargaining Team: Daniel Poulin (Guide), Guy Gagnon (Security), Patrice Rémillard (Collections).
