Treasury Board Negotiations: Program and Administration Group
The Program and Administration table is bargaining for improvements to Article 39 – Maternity-Related Reassignment or Leave. Currently, if the employer cannot modify the job or find a re-assignment, the employee is sent on leave without pay. The demand is that any such leave be with pay. If we are to win this demand, we must be able to show Treasury Board that we need this change to the collective agreement. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you could provide me with any examples where the employer has sent members of the PA bargaining unit on leave without pay because it could not modify their job or find a re-assignment.We hope to present this information at the next negotiation session, which is April 22 to 25.
