Conseil régional d'action politique de l'Outaouais

NDP Leader Jack Layton and Pierre Ducasse, the NDP candidate in Hull-Aylmer, invited by CRAPO

Jack Layton, NDP Leader and Pierre Ducasse, NDP candidate in Hull-Aylmer More than fifty PSAC members met with NDP leader Jack Layton and the party’s candidate in Hull-Aylmer, Pierre Ducasse, at an information evening held at the Outaouais Regional Council of the Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec last February 5.

Pierre Ducasse expressed his strong belief in favor of the public services, adding that the NDP is the only party steadfastly determined to protect them and opposed to their privatization.  He invited PSAC members to place its trust in his party during the next federal election.

Meanwhile, Jack Layton delivered an optimistic speech on his party’s chances of electing more candidates in Quebec.  He also issued a plea in favour of strengthening the federal public sector and maintaining quality services for the Canadian people.

Both men were the guests of the Conseil régional d'action politique de l'Outaouais (CRAPO), which will actively take part in the next federal election campaign.  The members met with MPs Richard Nadeau and Marcel Proulx and invited candidates Ducasse (NDP) and Raphaël Déry of the Bloc Québécois at a meeting of their members.  The CRAPO and PSAC members will continue to meet with those running during the next federal campaign to inform PSAC members of the parties’ positions on the issues of concern to them as citizens and workers in the federal Public Service.
